Good for you, you decided to start going sub zero.If you don't insulate your hardware properly then you are going to have some real problems.
Items required: Knead-able eraser Frost king insulation (or foil tape) Armaflex sheets Armaflex tubes Shop towels Any thin kitchen rag LN2/DICE pot
To start, take off the CPU cooling you currently have on there and clean off the CPU.
Next add a fairly thin layer of knead-able eraser onto the motherboard. Get in between all the capacitors.
Also make sure you get it in between the socket lever and the board.
If there are some capacitors you cant wedge it between, make sure you put a small piece off shop towel in there.
Next add a heavy layer of eraser over every thing. Make sure you go over the capacitors and in the socket right next to the CPU.
Also make sure it is VERY thin next to the CPU, otherwise you will get eraser on the CPU when you screw down the pot.
Next add a layer off a dishrag. (Shamwow is awesome for this) Cut out the ares for the CPU and cut holes where the screws for the pot will go.
Next add a very thick sheet of Armaflex around the socket. Make sure that it is cut sos it doesn't get in the way of the pot.
Next insulate the bottom of the Motheboard. First make a thick layer of eraser all around the bottom of the board. Spread it all the way over to the memory sockets.
Next add several layers of shop towel or paper towels to the bottom. Then add the back plate.
Then start insulating your pot. (Pot made by Bartx)
First cover it in a layer of painters tape, to avoid sticky residue off the Frost King. Make sure you put the mounting bracket on first.(otherwise it wont fit).
Note:If you are using liquid nitrogen then put the temp probe in the Pre-drilled hole at this point.
Then cover it in a few layers of frost king.(Or foil tape)
After the Frost King I like to add about 2 layers of shop towels at the top section and 4 layers at the bottom.
Then put on the armaflex tubes.
Next strap it onto the board and get ready to bench!
Have fun benching and be sure to post the result on our forums!
